We built the tool we wished we had.
The three of us came to the Netherlands for different reasons. One of us came for love. One came for work. One came for a new life. But when the inburgering deadline arrived, we all felt the same thing: pressure.
Not just exam pressure. The kind of pressure tied to your residency, your right to stay, your family's future. The kind where failing doesn't just mean retaking a test, but uncertainty about everything you've built.
So we studied. And we struggled.
We moved between DUO practice tests, scattered exam-prep sites, ChatGPT tabs, and Google Translate. Four or five tabs open at once. And we were still missing something.
Then one of us noticed something in a DUO waiting room. People from completely different countries, speaking completely different languages, all doing the same thing: quietly typing into AI tools minutes before their exam.
We were all trying to build the same workaround. Because no existing tools were actually built for the DUO exam itself. Nothing tracked your mistakes, adapted when you got stuck, or explained the 'why' behind an answer. Just more prompts and guessing.
We started asking: why doesn't something better exist?
